Is Ruffell & Brown too expensive for me?
NO!
Because we do lots of beautiful homes with expensive complicated treatments some people think they can't afford us or assume we are too expensive. Not True! We provide lots of choices of inexpensive blinds, window treatments, upholstery etc. if that is what you require. You will be surprised at what a great price we can work out for you.

I have my own fabric will you sew it up for me?
Yes, we do offer workroom services, but you should know that the prices are higher for workroom labour only. If we are supplying other parts of the project such as lining, drapery tracks, hardware, blinds, installation service, etc we can in some cases reduce the labour to our regular price list.

How do I install the blinds myself?
A lot of products we sell are fairly simple to install but some are not something you should take on yourself. This is the case in some of the higher end products from HunterDouglas and a lot of the custom window treatments that require a talented installer to ensure the best look.

Do you charge for in-home decorator service?
No, we offer free shop-at-home service for southern Vancouver Island residents for appointments regarding decorating services. Our decorating staff is happy to come to your home with lots of samples and ideas for you to look at and get a price on, plus we measure and take responsibility for ensuring the right fit for your new custom decorating products.

Do you offer Installation Service?
Yes, if you have installation work to do just call us and we can arrange to have one of our installers come out. Most of the custom window covering work we do requires a qualified installer; this is discussed and included in our prices to you in all our decorating proposals.

Do you clean and repair blinds?
We have a full service repair department open Monday to Friday to look after any warranty work or repairs for your blinds. We do not offer in house cleaning service at this time but call us and we can recommend some local companies that we trust to do a good job for you.

Do you stock wallpaper?
No, we do not. We do have hundreds of wallpaper books for you to choose from or visit our on-line shopping website to see what's available. Most wallpaper patterns we have are available with very quick delivery.

Do you have drapery hardware in stock?
Yes, we stock a full line of cut to measure drapery tracks for cord-draw and hand-draw applications, along with a large selection of components for these type of systems. It is best to phone ahead if you know what you want as they do take time to assemble. We also carry a limited selection of decorative hardware. As there is such a vast selection of decorative hardware products now available, we have many displays and catalogs for you to view, most with very quick delivery.

Do you sell fabric by the yard?
Yes, we have thousands of fabric samples in every price range for you to choose from. If you want to purchase fabric only, we would be happy to order it in for you.

Do you stock fabrics?
No, we feel there is just too much available to stock a comprehensive current program of fabrics. We have literally hundreds of sample books featuring thousands of both drapery and upholstery fabrics. Large galleries of name brand fabric suppliers are featured in our showroom for you to view.

Do you offer Interior Design Services?
Yes, we do offer full interior design services. If you are looking for help with your residential or commercial project we can provide space planning, furniture layouts, colour consultations, colour boards, show homes and suites and much more. Call us about your design project and we will be happy to help. Design fees range in price from about $50 to $90 per hour.

Do you offer workroom services for drapery and upholstery?
Yes, but there is a higher price for labour only. If you have a decorating project you want us to price, please call as we are always competitive. We also do work for larger projects such as hotels and motels that require labour only pricing to sew sheers, drapes, bedspreads, and other custom products.

Are there child safety issues that I should be aware of when purchasing window blinds?
Yes, however the name brand suppliers we deal with have responded to these issues with break-away tassels, cordless blinds, and many other improvements to ensure safety for children and pets. If you have any questions please contact us.

What warranties do your products have?
Most of our custom blinds, shades and shutters come with a limited lifetime warranty which means that any manufacturer defect is covered for the life of the blind, shade or shutter. Please note that these warranties do not cover the cost of an installer's trip charge if you cannot bring the blind in to our repair department. Generally manufacturers will cover broken cords during the first year, after that time such repairs are considered normal wear and tear and are not covered by warranty.
